Magnaflux Developer for penetrant testing available in Solvent/Non-Aqueous (Form D/E), Dry Powder (Form A), Water Soluble (Form B), and Water Suspendible (Form C) to fit your needs. Available in aerosol, liquid, and dry powder forms.
A bright white, non-aqueous developer, the SKD-S2 creates an opaque white background for high-contrast penetrant testing and quickly draws penetrant out to create stronger, clearer indications for better inspection reliability and sensitivity. Noted for its compatibility with special alloys, such as stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium and titanium, SKD-S2 is non-halogenated, can be used with Type 1 & Type 2 penetrants. This solvent-based developer meets aerospace and nuclear industry requirements, and complies with all major NDT specifications, including ISO 3452. SKD-S2 helps speed up the inspection process by going on easily, drying quickly, promoting faster indication formation and minimizing post-inspection cleaning. It is ideal for machine shops, weld testing and field applications. SKD-S2 is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List and is approved by numerous Aerospace Primes including, Boeing, GE and Honeywell.

ZP-9F is a non-aqueous developer made of organic particles, used often in aerosol cans. It produces a fast-drying, opaque white coating and contrasting background for fluorescent and visible penetrant inspections. It is typically used for a wide variety of testing materials such as welds, castings, forgings, leak testing, pressure vessels, aircraft, marine, construction, maintenance, petroleum pipelines, power plant components, and general metalwork in automotive, off-highway equipment and farm equipment. ZP-9F is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List.
Replaces ZP-4B (Discontinued July 2022)
ZP-4D is a noncombustible dry powder developer for form A penetrant testing that is ideal for highly sensitive fluorescent penetrant processes. ZP-4D is applied to oven dried parts following the use of penetrants and forms a thin film on parts that enhances the visibility of ultra-fine discontinuities. ZP-4D is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List and is approved for use by Pratt & Whitney.
ZP-14A is a water-soluble developer for the enhancing penetrant indications during liquid penetrant inspections. It produces a uniform white porous coating when dry which is easily removed in post inspection cleaning by a water spray. Advantages include bright and highly defined indications, and can be cleaned with water. This white free-flowing powder dissolves in water to form a developer solution and does not require agitation once the developer bath is prepared. ZP-14A is recommended for use with Level 2 ZL-2C, Level 3 ZL-27A and Level 4 ZL-37 post-emulsifiable penetrants. ZP-14A is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List.
As a complementary developer for penetrant inspections, ZP-5B forms an opaque white coating that makes a contrasting background for indications. This white powder developer is mixed with water for use and disperses quickly to form an opaque white suspension, but must be continually agitated during use to ensure uniformity of mix as developer will settle out on standing. ZP-5B can be used to enhance fluorescent indications during FPI Type 1 testing or used at higher concentrations to form an opaque white background for visible / color-contrast Type 2 dye penetrant inspections. ZP-5B is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List.
